I ordered this book because i have found rail travel to be more challenging than ever in Europe. Lines the "used to be" are no more. This book is only partially useful because it omits major cities such as Turin, Italy. There is no information at all for the more experienced traveler who is planning a trip. I do appreciate the contact information it lists for the USA for various rail systems. Also I did not find mention of quirky rules which void usage of passes. Further ore other than passes fares are not delineated so that the savvy traveler can determine the best choice to make. I like the train systems once I am able to figure out what to do since a direct train from Nice to Torino no longer exists ( you have to go to Milano and changes in Genoa are required now.).
It did provide limited advice about using Eural and gave an overview for a few major cities and places to see near them, overall it was not very useful and was thick and heavy. It wasn't that expensive but it wasn't worth the low price I paid. More helpful was having a smart phone that let me search for places to go when we were at our hotel or on some of the trains that provide free Wifi. While I wouldn't suggest buying it, I have to admit it wasn't totally useless.
I was expecting train schedules. which it had but only from hub cities. if you were travelling from other locations there was no information.
Was not exactly what was looking for . Thought would have been more detailed.
Good book. Was very helpful. It helped me plan my trip more efficiently and effectively. Could include times table for us to see.
